Hi, I'm Ashley!
I have been painting and drawing since I was big enough to sit at my mama's kitchen table.
Art and creativity have been woven throughout my 4 decades of life. I attended art classes throughout high school and have completed numerous online watercolor classes and workshops.
I spent most of my 20's and 30's as a professional photographer and it filled my creative bucket. In 2016 I retired my photography business in order to homeschool my 3 kids. That year I also picked up the paintbrush again to continue my interest in watercolor.
I have had my share of health challenges throughout my adult life, but finally, after many MANY surgeries and a lot of prayers, in 2023 I was able to get a kidney transplant that gave me my quality of life back!
I make my home in an old church in Idaho, USA, with my husband, 2 young adult sons, and teenage daughter; who navigates life with Cerebral Palsy. We have two dogs, two cats, and a cute little flock of chickens. Working from home is such a necessity and blessing for me!
I am also humbled to be part of the Daniel Smith Brand Ambassador family since 2023. They are my tribe!
I have done commission-based work, taught watercolor workshops online, and mentored individuals. Although I love doing all of these, what I love the most and want to focus on, is my private mentoring.
I offer my private watercolor mentoring via Zoom, from my cozy attic studio!
I help women to overcome their fear and level up their watercolor skills to begin to paint like they've always dreamed of!
I am currently building a watercolor course unlike anything else out there! My plans also include writing a book on painting pet portraits with watercolor.
I absolutely love what I do and I am so glad you're here!

My Girl
This is my daughter, Pepper. She is 13 and is the coolest chick I know. The way she navigates life despite the immense challenges she faces is nothing short of inspirational.
My Guy
This is my husband of 21 years, Dave. He is an incredible human and my biggest cheerleader. He has had to retire from his career as a General Contractor earlier than planned due to his back issues and takes care of our daughter while I manage my business. I am so grateful for his support!
Jared
Jared, our eldest, turned 19 in July, 2024. This guy loves TRUCKS, as you can see. He is into all things outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping etc. He is still deciding what direction he will take his life, but I am so excited to see what he will do!
Ashton
Ashton is 18 and he is our designated "middle child." He tackles the position with a sense of humor and resilience and constantly keeps us laughing with his "Dad Jokes." He loves all things science and fantasy and plans to become a Lego Engineer!
Reba
Oh Reba! This amazing Miniature Poodle came into Pepper's life in 2023 in an unexpected way and the two bonded immediately. After a few training sessions to become a certified therapy dog, Pepper decided to just let her be her Emotional Support Dog instead. And emotional support she is!
Belle
Belle is my 9 year old Toy Schnauzer. I adopted her from a family member in 2018 and she has become my baby. I love her snaggle teeth, her big bat ears, and her luscious long lashes. Sometimes you might hear her scratching at the carpet underneath my studio desk!
Matilda
While we really prefer dogs, we found this scrawny malnourished kitten in a grocery store parking lot one day and HAD to bring her home! She turned out to be kind of a jerk as an adult, but she's OUR jerk and we love her! She now lives outside and keeps our country mice problem down! *pictured as a kitten sitting on Jared's head*
Mama Kitty
AKA Ember, she had kittens in 2020 and she quickly became known as the Mama. She has since been spayed and loves roaming our 2.5 acres hunting for mice! She is the sweetest cat I have ever known. We have tried to make her a house cat, but she just won't have it! Man is she gorgeous!
