I've been creating art for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are sitting at my mother’s kitchen table with a pencil, paintbrush, scissors or glue.Creativity has been woven throughout every season of my life. I studied art throughout high school, spent many years as a professional photographer, and eventually found my way back to watercolor, where I truly feel at home.
Today, I live in an old country church in Idaho with my husband, our two adult sons, and teenage daughter Pepper. Between us all, we have four dogs, four cats, and a small flock of chickens.
When I'm not painting pets, you'll often find me planning my next adventure. I love traveling, connecting with artists around the world, and gathering inspiration from beautiful places. Italy has captured my heart, but every destination seems to find its way into my sketchbooks and journals.
Since 2023, I've been honored to serve as aDANIEL SMITH Brand Ambassador, combining my passion for watercolor, education, and storytelling through demonstrations, workshops, creative collaborations, and marketing content that has allowed me to support thousands of artists while staying deeply connected to the global watercolor community.
My greatest artistic passion is helping artists find their own voice in watercolor. Through classes, mentoring, future retreats, and educational resources, I encourage artists to move beyond perfectionism, trust their instincts, and create work that feels personal and meaningful.
I am currently developing new educational opportunities for watercolor artists, including my upcoming book,5-Step Expressive Watercolor Dogs, as well as future courses and retreats designed to bring artists together through creativity, community, and exploration.
